Keep Track of City Wireless Networks
A nice article in today's Wall Street Journal clued me in to this terrific blog-style website, www.muniwireless.com. Esme Vos of the Netherlands, with guest editors Sascha Meinrath and Dewayne Hendricks run it with associated podcasts. It tracks which cities and towns have wi-fi networks.
The article in the WSJ discusses telecom companies that formerly attempted to block cities' move to offer free or low-cost wi-fi access, now are lining up to bid on the contracts. The Muniwireless site has a copy of the article, so go read up!
